NerdHat Ethernet Expansion Board. A compact Ethernet adapter designed to add wired network connectivity to compatible Nerd Bitcoin miners, including the NerdAxe Gaia, NerdOctaxe, NerdQaxe++ and NerdQaxe+. It provides a reliable alternative to Wi-Fi, allowing your miner to connect directly to a router or network switch using an Ethernet cable.
Built around the WIZnet W5500 Ethernet controller, the NerdHat provides a 10/100 Mbps wired network interface through a standard RJ45 port. The controller communicates with the miner over SPI, enabling Ethernet connectivity when used with compatible firmware.
The board features JP2 and JP3 configuration jumpers, allowing it to be configured for different Nerd miner models. Simply select the appropriate jumper positions for your miner and install the corresponding Ethernet-enabled firmware.
Designed for miners operating in areas with weak or inconsistent Wi-Fi coverage, the NerdHat provides a direct wired connection without relying on wireless signal strength.

NERDETH rev1.1 with integrated WIZnet W5500 controller and RJ45 Ethernet port.
Installation & Configuration
The NerdHat connects to the miner through its board interface. Before installation, power off the miner and configure the JP2 and JP3 jumpers according to the miner model and hardware revision.
Once connected, install the appropriate NerdHat-compatible Ethernet firmware for your miner. Connect an Ethernet cable from the RJ45 port to your router or network switch, then configure your mining pool and wallet settings through the miner's web interface.
Please note: Standard W5500 firmware is not necessarily compatible with every supported miner. The correct Ethernet-enabled firmware and pin configuration are required for your specific model.

Important: Later NerdOctaxe Gamma hardware revisions (rev3.4 and newer) share certain Ethernet pins with individual ASIC temperature sensing. Check the applicable firmware compatibility notes before installation.
The NerdHat NERDETH rev1.1 is designed for the Nerd miners listed above. The announced Bitaxe BAP port support belongs to a separate future hardware version.
Please note: Miner and Ethernet cable are required for operation. Compatibility depends on the miner's hardware revision and the availability of suitable Ethernet-enabled firmware.
